We offer a modest facility suitable for individuals or groups up to 8 people. There is also ample camping space, electrical hookup for camping trailers, and access to the Turkey River for fishing and canoeing (inquire ahead of time if interested).

What we have: a fully equipped kitchen, shower and toilets, great room and large table that seats 10, 2 full-size beds, multiple sleeping mattes, a 3-season porch, miles of hiking trails

What we don't have: TV, phone, internet, car traffic (Note: emergency access to phone and internet are readily available through the onsite caretaker. Special arrangements may be made for access to wireless internet. Most cell phones do not get service at the center, but often work with a short hike up the hill.)

What you should bring: food, bedding (sheets, blankets or sleeping bag, pillow), towels, toiletries, personal items, hiking boots

Costs: The basic rate is $15 per night per person for individuals and small groups. Larger groups and those wishing to stay for extended periods should inquire about special pricing.

Pets: Dogs may be allowed at the facility at the discretion of the caretaker; decisions are made on an individual basis, depending on the situation and the personality of the dog. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

The purpose of DMRC is to provide a facility for spiritual renewal and educational growth. Our secluded faciity located in the driftless area of NE Iowa provides an opportunity for individuals and groups to experience quietude and simplicity away from the noise and confusion of modern life. Being unafiliated with any specific religious organization, we are able to provide a unique openness in concept that allows for the nurturing of your personal journey.
